Internal Medicine

Patients who are referred to the hospital for general medicine are placed in the Evaluation, Diagnostic and Treatment unit.
  • Most of these patients are diagnosed in one or two days, and are released with a return appointment to their closest dispensary.
  • Patients with more serious conditions are admitted to the Medicine Ward.
  • Patients with AIDS or tuberculosis who require inpatient care are admitted to designated units on the Medicine Ward until they are stable enough to be transferred to ambulatory care at neighboring health centers.
